Job Description
~~Maintenance Supervisor
Position Reports to: Engineering Manager
Starting Salary: $65-75K, DOE

Duties and Requirements of the Job:
1. Directs the activities of all maintenance personnel in the factory in matters concerning the maintenance of all machinery, equipment, tooling, molds, and grounds and building maintenance.
2. Maintains complete and accurate records of repairs and preventative maintenance in accordance with TS-xxxx9 requirements.
3. Maintains an adequate supply of MRO and Tool Crib parts in order to reduce machine down time.
4. Trains maintenance personnel in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and tool repair.
5. Directs and coordinates plant engineering projects.
6. Directs the activities of all Building Contractors in facility maintenance matters.
7. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
8. Oversees the development of predictive, preventive and reliability centered maintenance programs.
9. Coordinates with Engineering and Maintenance with regards to facilities engineering matters, including compliance with federal/state laws and regulations and coordinates facilities engineering projects activities with other departments.
10. Negotiates and approves contracts for specialized facilities maintenance work; performs engineering project manage work to include preparing budgets for maintenance projects, overseeing project execution, resolving complex work problems, recommending contract change orders, preparing progress reports, and reviewing invoices and authorizing payments.
11. Recommends work equipment and maintenance standards, procedures and performance criteria for ongoing planned activities; helps define training needs for maintenance personnel.
12. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
13. Drives a vehicle to company locations to inspect equipment and facilities or observe maintenance activities.
14. Participates in the interview and hiring of new staff, prioritizes, assigns and reviews work, approves time off for payroll purposes and prepares employee performance evaluations.
15. PLC Programming and trouble shooting to keep equipment operating during testing requirements.
16. Other duties as assigned.
Training, Knowledge and Experience:
• Minimum of an Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school with a major in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent field, five years of full time experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, 2 years supervisory experience, 2 years facilities responsibility.
• Engineering principles, practices, theories and technologies related to equipment controls, mechanical or electrical/electronic systems and processes; the techniques and procedure of engineering project management; accepted methods and procedures for testing and maintaining a variety of mechanical and/or electrical equipment and systems; federal and state laws and regulations relating to maintenance of equipment, OSHA regulations and safe work practices, supervision and budgeting.
• Ability to coordinate and supervise an effective facilities engineering program.
• Ability to assign and supervise the work of maintenance staff, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, maintain detailed and accurate records, prepare clear and concise written reports and establish and maintain good working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to use MS computer applications.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Physical Requirements to Perform the Duties of the Job:
On an intermittent basis, sit at a desk for periods of time in front of a computer screen, intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies, perform simple grasping and fine manipulation, use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis, intermittently crawl into confined spaces or climb a ladder to reach high places, reach above or below shoulder height, regularly stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch and lift/move up to 50 pounds, and speak and see sufficiently to perform essential job functions,
Working Conditions:
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to
outside weather Conditions. The noise level is moderate.
