This position is located in the Environmental Management Service (EMS) at the Tuskegee Campus of CAVHCS. The primary purpose of this position is to provide secretarial and time keeping support to the EMS administrative staff. Specific duties include but are not limited to:* Preparing administrative correspondence;* Compiling and preparing a wide variety of reports, statistical data and graphs;* Timekeeping for multiple service sections;* Use of office supplies and equipment;* Use of multiple computer software programs to compile reports, etc.;* Perform additional duties as required. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30 PMPOSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE/PD#: Secretary (OA)/xxxx4-0 You must be able to type 40 words per minute to qualify for this position. In addition, applicants for the Secretary (Office Automation) GS-xxxx-5 must either possess specialized experience, education or a combination of both as described below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Possession of one (1) full year of specialized experience related to this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level in the Federal Service. Examples of specialized experience include: composing and editing correspondence; coordinating the work of an office; maintaining appointment calendars; scheduling appointments; serving as time keeper; making travel arrangements; compiling data for reports; scheduling conferences and meetings; taking meeting minutes; and operating a personal computer. ~OR~ EDUCATION: Successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. ~OR~ COMBINATION: Equivalent combination of creditable specialized experience and education. NOTE: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (ie, beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (eg, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (eg, professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
