The College of Agricultures Department of Animal Sciences at Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Professor of Metabolomics. The expected start date is August 16, xxxx. This is a 9-month tenure-track position with 75% research and 25% instruction responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a leading role in metabolomics research at Auburn University and collaborate with researchers conducting complementary studies in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and bioinformatics. The incumbent will recruit and train MS and PHD level graduate students in support of departmental graduate research program. The incumbent will be expected to develop a highly visible, extramurally funded program in research related to efficiency of animal protein production. This research will involve metabolomics profiling of agriculturally important organisms. The incumbent will also be expected to write research proposals, conduct original research and publish in highly ranked peer-reviewed scientific journals. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching responsibilities of the department and colleges supporting the Omic and Informatics initiative. They will also be expected to contribute to classroom teaching assignments including, but not limited to, metabolomics, bioinformatics, biochemistry or animal nutrition. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to participate actively in Auburn University multidisciplinary Cluster Hires Initiative in the cluster of Omics and Informatics. New faculty with expertise in Metabolomics will complement the Universitys considerable existing expertise in these areas to form the core of this innovative multidisciplinary initiative.
