Purpose and Scope:
This position provides technical support to the production operation, by planning organizing and controlling all aspects of engineering projects. The Project Engineer is responsible for managing engineering projects as and when assigned, these projects will be in various BWAY Corporation locations and travel will be a part of this position. This position interacts with operators, engineers, plant management, corporate management, maintenance, and customers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Develop project objectives and project plans by reviewing the opportunity with management.
Determines project responsibilities by identifying key elements of the project and assigns responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Determines project specifications in conjunction with management by studying performance standards and customer requirements and completing technical studies as appropriate. Prepares cost estimates and submits AFE as required.
Determines project schedule by studying all aspects of the project and developing an accurate timeline to completion.
Maintains project schedule by monitoring progress and coordinating activities, solves problems as they arise.
Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.
Prepares project status reports by analyzing information and reviewing critical path.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing company procedures, rules and regulations.
Maintains an accurate project database and updates all projects in a timely manner to allow regular reporting to management.
Ensures that all contractors and personnel working on projects comply with federal and State regulations.
